Maurice Muise
President & CEO
Maurice or (Moe) as some people refer to him is the founder of Gemma Group and Gemma Business Brokers Franchise Systems Inc. He is responsible for the overall direction and strategy of the Gemma Business Brokers franchise organization. A serial entrepreneur, Moe draws on his experience of starting his first business in 1983 and running numerous successful businesses over the last three decades. In 1993, Maurice brokered his first international deal in the Middle East where he successfully concluded a franchise deal for the largest Canadian Pizza Franchisor in the United Arab Emirates. Moe has successfully owned and operated Gemma Business Brokers for over a decade and has personally acted as an intermediary for multi-million dollars worth of transactions in that period. Moe is a member of the International Business Brokers Association (IBBA); the world’s largest association for Business Brokers. He is a graduate of the Harvard University Executive Program on Negotiation, a Licensed Real Estate Broker in the province of Nova Scotia and a graduate of the Canadian Securities Institute. Carolyn Johnson
Vice President
Carolyn was appointed Director in May, 2009. Carolyn is currently a Partner with Rosson Johnson & Gordon, organizational development consultants who specialize in human resource management, career transition, change management, and leadership development. Carolyn is a senior business professional with a reputation as a skilled and astute leader, superb planning strategist and mediator who has overseen multi-million dollar budgets and staff of over four hundred. Carolyn has over twenty-five years experience in a broad range of senior leadership roles including CEO, Chief Operating Officer, and Vice President in the private and public sector that includes health care, education and insurance. Carolyn is known for her ability to inspire and lead people and organizations through significant change and turnaround. Carolyn’s current focus is in facilitation, change management, leadership development and conflict management. Carolyn is a graduate of the University of Kings College (BBA), Dalhousie University (MPA) and has completed various executive training programs including those offered by Harvard University and the Canadian College of Health Services Executives.
